Rishabh Pant’s Capitals have been able to win four matches so far, but they’re still nowhere near where they want to be in of consistency. When their batting failed early on in the tournament, their bowling group stood up. And now, it’s just the opposite.
Their batting has come together but their bowlers have gone the distance, especially Anrich Nortje whose horror show in this year’s IPL continues. Batsmen have been able to play them without fear and score runs of him easily, regardless of the pace he generates. Mukesh Kumar, who started the season well, lost his way in the middle and is trying to regain his form.
Axar Patel and Kuldeep have been mostly good but Khaleel Ahmed and the fifth bowler option Lalit Yadav haven’t impressed yet. DC’s batting has improved a great deal with the inclusion of Aussie sensation Fraser McGurk. Prithvi Shaw’s unable to spend time at the crease, and that’s a worry.
But Abhishek Porel has found his footing and is able to provide his team with a solid foundation up top. Pant and Stubbs have been exceptional for Delhi Capitals, with their partnership proving to be valuable for the Capitals against visiting Gujarat Titans who ran the hosts close in a thrilling chase at Delhi the other night.
Since their arrival at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the batsmen of Delhi Capitals have been smashing sixes with ease. In the last two matches combined, the Capitals hit a total of 25 sixes. In their last head-to-head matchup against Mumbai Indians earlier in the season, the Capitals smashed 11 sixes. With the boundaries much shorter at Delhi, the sixes hit are going to be high in today's match, and we back the Capitals to hit over 10.5 sixes.

Mumbai Indians have been unimpressive this whole season. The change in captaincy has clearly disturbed the rhythm of the team, and it shows in their poor showing this season.
If there was one guy who consistently put Mumbai in a strong position, it would have to be Bumrah. The Indian spearhead has been in fine form, asking questions of the batsmen with his sublime T20 skills. His partner Coetzee has not had the effect he would have liked, but the South African runs in hard and bowls his heart out. Akash Madhwal hasn’t set the tournament on fire either, and is still working on getting his radar right. Piyush Chawla or Shreyas Gopal as the spinner hasn’t worked out at all.
On the batting front, Rohit Sharma is leading the way contributing bulk of the runs upfront. Tilak Varma is doing a fine job in the middle order too. Suryakumar Yadav isn’t quite in his zone yet, but made a crucial 78 the other night to take MI to a fighting total. But the rest of the batting group have been pretty ordinary, with only Ishan Kishan managing to score a lone half century.
Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Jasprit Bumrah. Impact Sub: Nuwan Thushara.

4 innings and 3 scores of 200+; these numbers show how batting-friendly the wicket has been at this venue. In addition, the shorter boundaries here give batsmen the free license to swing for the stands. This should be another high-scoring contest if the wicket holds good. The forecast for this contest is clear and we’re going to have full-on cricket action without any weather interruption.

Minimal TurnThis match will be played at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi. Mumbai Indians have won three out of their most recent five matches against Delhi Capitals at this venue, and will be hoping that they’ll be able to add to their tally coming into this match.
The total aggregate scores in the last two matches played at Delhi are 465 and 444 such has been the dominance of batsman at this venue. The last time both Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals clashed off the the total combined score was 439 runs. We predict it to be a high scoring game and the total aggregate score to be over 403.5 runs.
Both matches at this venue so far have been won by the team batting first, although the margin of victory was narrow in one of them. It’s highly likely that the team winning the toss will choose to have a bat first and put a huge total on board.
Delhi Capitals batsmen have been brutal in the last two matches, and we expect them to come good again against Mumbai Indians, who’re nowhere near their best this season with both ball and bat.
We are backing Delhi Capitals as winners of this contest.
