It was an excellent start to the new era for England's ODI side on Thursday as they posted 400/8 before dismissing West Indies for 162 inside 27 overs at Edgbaston.
There are two games left in the series with the final of the three-matches taking place at The Oval next Tuesday.
But the next fixture takes place in Cardiff on Sunday, a venue where England have experienced plenty of success over the years since it became an international venue.
West Indies were completely outplayed with both bat and ball in Birmingham and they need to show their skills in both disciplines or else the series will be over before Tuesday's match.

Posting 400/8 on Thursday, England showed all of the fearlessness of their new captain Harry Brook as they romped home at Edgbaston.
It will not be the same wicket in Cardiff but there is finally confidence in the England ODI side, something which wasn't seen in any of their previous ODI matches in 2025!
The top seven all made useful contributions with Jacob Bethell the standout perfoormer with 82 runs from 53 balls. Ben Duckett, Joe Root and skipper Brook all made half-centuries as well.
With the ball, it was the right-arm pacers, Saqib Mahmood and Jamie Overton, who were the most potent, taking three wickets each. Spinners Bethell and Adil Rashid come into this game after taking three wickets between them in Birmingham.

On a day where not much went well for West Indies, the performance of Alzarri Joseph who took 2/69 was impressive. Gudakesh Motie kept his economy rate below 5.60 and Jayden Seales took four wickets but West Indies must find a way of stopping England's batters playing in such a free-scoring manner.
Matthew Forde had a day to forget at Edgbaston, sending down eight wicketless and maidenless overs and conceding 88 runs in the process!
With the bat, West Indies need to deliver in Cardiff and captain Shai Hope top scored with just 25 at Edgbaston.
The experience of opener Brandon King, Hope and all-rounder Roston Chase will be critical in this match or else West Indies will fall to a series defeat at the earliest opportunity.

This will be quite a cool day in Wales with the temperature at just 14 degrees at the start of the game and rising only to 16 by the end. It will be humid from start to finish.

Sophia Gardens has short straight boundaries which often means that spinners can be targeted. But the surface is consistent and a par score will be in the region of 375.
With cloudy conditions forecast for the start of the game, we predict that both captains will want to bowl first ahead of this second ODI in Cardiff on Sunday.
The first ODI was very one-sided but we expect a closer contest in Wales on Sunday. Whether West Indies can improve enough to trouble England is another matter though and our prediction is for another home victory.
