It’s shaping up to be a massive clash, with both teams looking sharp this season. RCB sit third on the table after winning three of their four games and look more in control than in previous years. DC, on the other hand, have surged to the top with three dominant wins in a row and plenty of momentum behind them.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have kicked off IPL 2025 in strong fashion. They've played four games so far, winning three and dropping just one. Their latest outing was a nail-biter — a 12-run win over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. After putting up a solid 221-5 batting first, they held their nerve with the ball, even as MI threatened a late comeback.
The runs were well spread out this time. Virat Kohli was at it again, scoring a fluent 67 off 42. He’s now topping the charts for RCB this season with 167 runs from four games at an average of 54.66 and a strike rate of 143.85.
Rajat Patidar led the side with intent, blasting 64 off just 32, while Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 40 off 19 and Devdutt Padikkal’s 37 off 22 kept the momentum going.
RCB’s lineup looks deep and dangerous, with Tim David batting as low as seven. Philip Salt hasn’t quite clicked yet, but he’s due — and a quick 30-plus knock could be just around the corner.
RCB’s bowling — often the weaker link — has looked sharper this season. Josh Hazlewood has made an impact, picking up wickets when the game’s in the balance. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s control with the new ball adds stability early on. In the middle overs, Krunal Pandya, Yash Dayal, and Liam Livingstone have kept things in check and added variety.
Devdutt Padikkal has scores of 37, 4, 27 & 10 and he has been striking at close to 150. Unlike the past seasons Padikkal has shown aggressive intent this season and is expected to score runs at a quicker rate. Playing at his home ground in Bengaluru, we back the southpaw to play an impactful cameo and score over 17 runs.
Rajat Patidar has smashed 8 sixes in 4 matches, averaging 2 sixes per match. Patidar is in sublime form at the moment and as he bats in the middle order, he is likely to take the attack to the DC spinners and back him to clear the ropes two or more times.
Virat Kohli scored 67 runs in the previous match against Mumbai Indians. So far this season, Kohli has scored 164 runs in 4 matches and has two fifties to his tally. In the last five matches played at Bengaluru, Kohli has scored 165 runs and he scored over 40 runs in three matches.

Delhi Capitals have had a flying start to the season, winning all three games with ease and sitting at the top of the table. Their latest win was a 25-run result over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. On a sluggish pitch, DC posted 183-6 and then kept CSK to 158-5 with disciplined bowling.
KL Rahul led the charge with a fluent 77 off 51. His calm presence at the top makes a big difference—he can keep the scoreboard ticking and also shift gears when needed. The middle-order looks in good shape too, with Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, and Axar Patel all looking dependable and capable of putting runs on the board.
Jake Fraser-McGurk hasn’t fired yet this season, but we’ve seen what he can do last season when he finds rhythm. A flat pitch like Chinnaswamy might be the perfect setup for him to play a quick, impactful knock. Ashutosh Sharma’s finishing skills also give DC that edge at the death—he can take down any attack in the last few overs.
With the ball, Mitchell Starc has been breathing fire. He’s picked up 9 wickets in three matches while keeping it just under 9 runs an over. Kuldeep Yadav has been tight as well, grabbing 6 wickets at a stingy economy of 6.
Mohit Sharma may have gone for runs, but his variations could still grab a couple in the middle overs. Axar’s control through the middle can help build pressure and force mistakes.
After a failure in the first match of the season, Abhishek Porel has scored 67 runs in the last two matches, striking at 167. He is a consistent run-scorer in the top order for DC and we back him to continue his good run of form against RCB and score over 20 runs.

Batsmen love the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch, and for good reason - it's usually flat and true, perfect for big hitting. Spinners can make an impact in the middle stages if the pitch offers grip, as we saw in the previous contest here. Conditions, however, will probably heavily favor batting with minimal assistance for bowlers.
The forecast calls for mild, somewhat cloudy conditions in Bengaluru during game time, but no rain threat means we'll likely get a complete match without weather interruptions.

Average TurnAt M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, teams batting first typically average 168 runs. But this venue often delivers big scores - Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed 287 against RCB here in IPL 2024, setting a new tournament record. For this match, the side batting first will likely aim for 210-220 to feel comfortable.
We back the home team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to win the coin toss in match 24 of TATA IPL 2025.
The last match played at Bengaluru was a moderate scoring match, where the total match score was 339 runs. The surface at Bengaluru favours the batters and the short square boundaries further aids them. Both teams boast strong batting lineups and expect a high scoring game and the total match score over 369 runs.
Looking at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium's recent history, we see a clear pattern emerging. The team taking first strike has won four of the previous six IPL contests held at this ground. Such statistics point to a noticeable benefit when establishing a total instead of pursuing one. Given these figures, the smart play appears to be batting first whenever possible at this venue.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals have been two of the most consistent sides in IPL 2025. RCB have found balance across the board—both the batting and bowling units are stepping up, no matter the conditions. Delhi might not have the big names, but they’re getting the job done with sharp planning and solid execution. It’s not an easy match to call, but RCB have a bit more depth, and with the home advantage, they edge ahead. For DC to pull this off, they’ll need KL Rahul to go big and Starc to strike early. If that doesn’t happen, RCB should have the upper hand.
We are backing Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the winners of this clash.
