Typically an ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 fixture between Scotland and Nepal in Dundee in June would not capture the imagination of the average cricket watcher but this clash on Sunday will be different.

That's because it comes six days after the two teams played out an epic ODI at the same venue with Nepal successfully chasing down their target of 297 with one wicket and one ball remaining!

Since that fixture last Sunday, Scotland have returned to winning ways against Netherlands and Nepal have carried the momentum of the victory into another win over the Dutch.

But this will be a game that Scotland are determined to win, and with points in the League 2 also up for grabs, it will be well worth following.

Scotland Preview

Although Scotland returned to winning ways on Friday against Netherlands, there are still areas where Richie Berrington will be looking for improvement from his side ahead of this clash with Nepal.

George Munsey has contributed scores of 12 and 26 so far this month and his team desperately needs him to find the form of last month when he delivered scores of 78 and 43 against UAE, 106 and 80 against Netherlands as well as 56 against UAE!

It was Finlay McGreath who top scored against Netherlands with 81 and he is the man in form after also hitting 55 in the first game against Nepal.

Further down the order, Mark Watt continues to contribute useful runs on regular occurences.

With the ball, Watt will be a threat with his left-arm orthodox while the new ball pace of Jasper Davidson and Brandon McMullen both come into this game in strong form.

Scotland Predicted Playing XI:

George Munsey, Charlie Tear, Brandon McMullen, Richie Berrington (c), Finlay McCreath, Matthew Cross (wk), Michael Leask, Mark Watt, Jack Jarvis, Safyaan Sharif, Jasper Davidson

Nepal Preview

This has been an excellent trip to Scotland for Nepal so far this month with back to back wins over the hosts and Netherlands. Not only have these both been carried out in conditions which are very different to the pitches back home, but have also come from a low base with Nepal starting this round of games level on points with UAE at the foot of the table.

If they are to continue their upwards trajectory in the group then  they need to record another win on Sunday and there will be plenty of confidence in the group.

After opener Kushak Bhurtel shephered the team home against Scotland with 53, it was Aarif Sheikh (78) and Dipendra Singh Airee (38 not out) who did the business with the bat against Netherlands and there are match winners across the team.

With the ball, expect the trio of Karan KC, Sompal Kami and spinner Sandeep Lamichhane to be the main threat to the Scottish batters.

Nepal Predicted Playing XI:

Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh (wk), Bhim Sharki, Rohit Paudel (c), Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi

Weather Conditions

It has not been a dry few days in Dundee but the forecast for Sunday is remarkably clear! There may be the odd spell of cloudy conditions but no rain is forecast and the temperature will be up at 16 degrees for the majority of the match.

SCT vs NEP Pitch Report

Throughout the last week, we have seen the curator in Dundee produce a pitch which offers a par score of around 300 but always keeps the spinners and seamers interested!

Toss: To Bowl

With two of the three games in Dundee won by the teams chasing, we predict that both captains will go out for the toss ahead of this game looking to bowl first.

Nepal have been unbeatable on this trip so far but we expect that winning run to come to an end on Sunday. Scotland are typically a strong side in their own back yard and they will be determined to right the wrongs of last weekend's defeat.

We are backing Scotland to win!
