A New Era of West Indies Cricket - West Indies Breakout League 2025

Cricket in the West Indies has been struggling for a long time, and the time has come for the management to take a strict action. In order to bring things back to the right track, Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (L) have come up with the idea of the West Indies Breakout League.
It is a tly launched cricket league that will give young cricketers a chance to prove their talent and in turn improve the quality of cricket in the country. The first season of the West Indies Breakout League is scheduled to take place from 25 April to 10 May 2025.
All the fixtures of the West Indies Breakout League 2025 are scheduled to take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. The format of the league will be T20 cricket and throughout the 2 weeks of the league, new talent will be nurtured and scouted for the senior team.

The first season of the West Indies Breakout League 2025 is set to clash with the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League. However, since it is a domestic tournament, that won’t impact their value at the online betting apps.
West Indies Breakout League 2025 - Teams
A total of 6 teams will be taking part in the competition. These 6 teams will play the league in round-robin format and the league will include one playoff and a final match on 10th May.

West Indies Breakout League 2025 - Player Eligibility
Since the tournament is focused on bringing on young players from the country, the biggest criteria for the players to be part of the league is to be less than 30 years old at the start of the event.
The players should have played less than 40 List A T20 fixtures and less than 10 T20 internationals. This rule will bring multiple young West Indies cricketers to the center stage, and if they perform well, their doors to the senior team will open easily.
It is a step forward taken by Cricket West Indies and the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League in order to save the West Indies cricket, which has seen a decline in ICC tournaments in recent years.
