Birmingham Bears come into this contest soaring in confidence thanks to a five-match winning streak. Their batting lineup packs a punch, with Ed Barnard leading the charge. The all-rounder has been in sensational form, anchoring the innings and chipping in with crucial wickets. Will Rhodes provides solid in the middle order, while Michael Burgess and Hamza Shaikh offer handy contributions down the order. Their bowling attack, spearheaded by Oliver Hannon-Dalby and Michael Booth, has been effective in picking up wickets.
Glamorgan, on the other hand, boast an unbeaten record in the competition. Their bowling unit has been particularly impressive, with Ben Kellaway, Jamie McIlroy, and Dan Douthwaite proving to be a handful for opposition batters. Their batting has been solid, with the likes of Colin Ingram and Eddie Byrom capable of big scores. Sam Northeast has also shown good form in the middle order.
This promises to be a cracking contest between two in-form sides. Warwickshire's batting depth will be tested against Glamorgan's impressive bowling attack, while the Welsh side will need to fire on all cylinders to chase down Warwickshire's likely big totals.

Warwickshire has been in exceptional form in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, securing five victories on the bounce. Their success has been driven by standout performances from key players like Ed Barnard, who has been phenomenal with both bat and ball.
Barnard’s highest score of 173 against Essex and a match-winning 152 not out against Gloucestershire highlight his consistency and ability to anchor the innings. Additionally, his bowling has been crucial, with best figures of 4 for 21 against Leicestershire. Will Rhodes has also been a reliable middle-order batsman, contributing vital runs, including a 60 against Sussex and three scores above 40, while also chipping in with important wickets occasionally. Michael Burgess has made impact with the willow as well, his 60 against Surrey and a quick 59 not out against Essex gave Birmingham's innings impetus when needed. Hamza Shaikh has shown promise with consistent contributions, and formed crucial partnerships. On the bowling front, Oliver Hannon-Dalby has been a key bowler, taking important wickets and maintaining pressure on the opposition.
Michael Booth has been equally impressive collecting key wickets on several occasions to dent the opposition batting. Warwickshire’s strengths lie in their batting depth, all-round performance, and strong partnerships, which have helped them chase down big targets and set competitive scores. However, they need to improve top-order stability and maintain consistency in bowling.
Overall, Warwickshire is well-positioned to win most of their remaining three matches and are strong contenders for the knockout stages of the competition.

Glamorgan has been in stellar form in the One-Day Cup, maintaining an unbeaten record with a series of impressive performances. Their campaign kicked off with a thrilling 27-run victory over Gloucestershire, highlighted by Ben Kellaway’s crucial 65* and Dan Douthwaite’s 4 for 25.
This was followed by a dominant seven-wicket win against Surrey, where the bowlers, led by Jamie McIlroy and Ben Kellaway, routed out Surrey for 121, and Colin Ingram’s rapid 39* saw off an easy chase. Against Nottinghamshire, Andy Gorvin’s career-best 5 for 56 restricted the opposition to 274 for 9. Eddie Byrom and Ingram’s unbeaten centuries then guided Glamorgan to an eight-wicket triumph. The bowlers continued to shine against Sussex, with van der Gugten and Douthwaite dismantling the batting lineup, and the batsmen huffed and puffed their way to a tricky one-wicket win shepherded by Billy Root.
In their next encounter with Essex, Glamorgan’s top order failed to score big, and the onus was on the middle order to get them to a good total. Sam Northeast responded in affirmative scoring a lovely 89 and stitching useful partnerships with Root and Tribe. Defending 284, Douthwaite, Morris and Mcllroy snared three wickets apiece to wrap up Sussex for 251, completing a 32 run victory.
Glamorgan has combined strong batting performances with disciplined bowling, positioning them as a formidable team. They'll look to win this encounter and take the bragging rights for who remains unbeaten going into the final two league fixtures.

The conditions in the Birmingham strip was not easy to assess last two seasons. It was conducive to batting on several occasions, but also gave a lot of purchase to bowlers in other instances. If the wicket is fresh and plays true to character 310+ will be a good target to defend. Light showers are forecast in the afternoon and early evening, so we may see some delay due to weather at some point during the match.

Average TurnThe match is being played at the Edgbaston stadium in Birmingham. This will be the only match to be played at this venue in this year’s one day cup.
Both teams have won their matches chasing defending and bowling, and with a minor rain threat around captains will be more interested in chasing a target. Historically, Birmingham has always been a win toss and bat kind of wicket, though.
We think the home advantage will turn into Warwickshire’s advantage and they will come out on top, although there’s not much to distinguish between these two teams based on current form and the style of cricket they play.
